Commonly Asked Questions
Why would I pay for a Vesta membership when there are free places to take my child, like the Ontario Early Years Centre?
Comparing Vesta to the Ontario Early Years Centre (OEYC) is like comparing your car to your couch - sure you can sit in both of them, but they both serve a different purpose. Vesta is about you. A Vesta membership includes a variety of programs that are tailored to you, but to which you are welcome to bring your small children. Vesta circles are unique to our area - they enable you to get to know people easily, ask questions of people who have “been there before”, and simply vent to people who understand what you’re going through. Vesta is your best friend’s family room, a workout room, and a kids toy room all mixed in to one. There are no sing-alongs. No one is eating paste. We love the OEYC - we take our own kids. It’s a great compliment to Vesta. Go there to make a craft with your toddler, come to Vesta to complain about your mother in law (although if we’re being honest we both really like our mother-in-laws- hi moms!). A Vesta membership also includes a lot more than the other free places, like kid-friendly exercise classes, discounted photo shoots, and child-free Girls Nights.
Why isn’t your centre and its programs free?
Unlike the Ontario Early Years Centre and Elgin St. Thomas Public Health, Vesta is not government funded and therefore must charge a membership fee to cover operating costs. For the same reason you wouldn’t expect to go to the gym for free you can expect to pay for Vesta programs and services.
